The Challenge

In front of an audience of more than 5,000 attendees at the annual SAP Sapphire conference in Atlanta, Americas’ SAP Users’ Group, or ASUG, had a unique opportunity to showcase the importance and overall value of becoming a member of the foremost support network for SAP users. But something ‘catchy’ was needed, something to capture the attention of the convention attendees and speak to their core concerns, something special. ASUG came to Chicago video production company, SolidLine, not only with a need to illustrate their main theme, “Connect/Learn/Grow,” but also to leave a footprint in the minds of their audience and kick start the convention in a fresh, exciting new way.
The Solution
SolidLine’s creative team went to work by doing in-depth research about both SAP and ASUG while at the same time conducting interviews with numerous users and members of both organizations. SolidLine’s award-winning writing staff utilized and expanded upon the core themes of connectivity and networking in order to illustrate the largest benefit of the world’s biggest SAP Users Group. Blended together with a sleek design and current ASUG branding, SolidLine’s production featured high end motion graphics (instead of 3d animation services) combined with member testimonials filmed on location at major ASUG member headquarters including Home Depot, DuPont, Coca-Cola and Dow Corning.
The Outcome
The presentation of ASUG’s video in Atlanta was a huge success, and served as an energetic ‘launching pad’ for the entire week. It was through this convention video that ASUG was able to fully illustrate to potential members just how important peer networking is to a successful implementation of SAP software, allowing them to ‘connect, learn, and grow’ right along side one another. “With SolidLine’s help, ASUG has been able to drum up phenomenal new member interest,” states ASUG Director of Marketing Nelly Greely. “Members have responded very well to our contemporary marketing efforts thanks to the guys at SolidLine.” ASUG continues to use the production by streaming it on the association website.
