The Challenge
Training programs are extremely important to the proper implementation and execution of all tasks at John Deere. The Engine Works, manufacturer of John Deere's two largest engines, came to high definition video production company, SolidLine Media in search of a way to decrease the amount of staff time spent on training without compromising the quality of the training program.

|
The Solution
SolidLine Media presented a concept to John Deere
that included a 3D animated engine character SolidLine
designed as a “host” of the training
video production. His name…”Johnny
D.” The idea behind Johnny D’s character
was to add a bit of comic relief during the video
sections, therefore making the content more enjoyable.
The training
video production was divided into three different
sections—each with a unique graphic and musical
theme and each being introduced by Johnny D.
The Outcome
Since its debut, the video created by Chicago video production company SolidLine Media, has proven to be a great success. Daily training which used to take more than two hours is now accomplished in less than a half hour. Bonita Berry, John Deere Environmental Coordinator, states "from scriptwriting to final product, SolidLine made an extra effort to ensure that the end product was exactly what we wanted. Not only does the video make training less costly, it does it in an entertaining way.”
