The Challenge
The Student Osteopathic Medicine Association (SOMA) approached SolidLine
Media with quite a feat – creating an inspirational video production
that would engage its student doctors of osteopathic medicine. Not
only did their video project need to incorporate the vast details
of becoming a D.O., the piece had to engage a young audience. In
other words, SOMA wanted its students to know that it was “cool”
to be a doctor of osteopathic medicine.

The Solution
SolidLine Media’s award- winning design staff was there with
fresh ideas – ideas that would give SOMA’s educational video production the
youthful, yet elegant feel that their organization deserves. Plus,
our veteran creative team was able to research the arduous task
of becoming a D.O., and mix it up with all of the style and flair
of a program that could be seen on MTV.
The Outcome
SolidLine’s concept incorporated revolutionary
3-D
animation to bring SOMA’s ideas to life.
A three dimensional universe was created, where
images and video clips of past and present osteopathic
greats would pass through on floating filmstrips
– a technique which gave the video a unique
and cutting-edge feel, yet still delivered the information
needed for today’s young, osteopathic student
doctors.
"This video educated our students as to what the future beholds
- and it kept the students engaged. They couldn't keep their eyes
off of it - it's exactly what we wanted," claims Project Lead
Mike Campea.
