Our Process

Successful business relationships rely heavily on the ability for involved parties to communicate and ‘mesh’ well. At SolidLine, we have fun at work. Every day. And we want our clients to have fun during the production process as well. When working with SolidLine, you will quickly learn that our team is a group of very easy going creative professionals. In addition to developing innovative video solutions that are fun and enjoyable to watch, our team is able to quickly adapt to change, work through production issues as a team, and communicate easily with all types of people.

Customer service is of utmost importance at SolidLine. We think of it as more of a client experience. Production work is fun, and we want our clients to enjoy working with us, and have fun with the process of creating something visually special.

The SolidLine quality control process ensures that we are on track to hitting the mark for each and every video we produce. This QC is maintained through a series of production approval stages, both internally and externally. Externally, we have 9 stages of approval (Creative Brief, Treatment, Style Sheet, Script, 2-Column, Motion Approval, Rough-Cut, Final-Cut, and Picture-Lock). Internally, we have QC in place for each and every minute detail of the production, so there literally can be hundreds of internal QC checks in each production.

The 9 Key stages of the SLM production process:

Creative Brief
A series of questions and points we gather at the start of each project to determine goals, audience, and style.

Treatment
A short, 1-page overview of the production concept. This ensures we are on the right track.

Style Sheet
A review of our proposed graphic ‘look and feel,’ this document includes 6 storyboarded frames of graphics, as well font treatments and a color palette for the production.

Script
The backbone of the production. The script is what everything is planned around.

2-Column
Once the script is approved we create the 2-column. This incorporates the narrative copy along with the video and graphic scenes in a 2-column audio/video format. This is the first time you will truly ‘see’ your production on paper.

Motion Approval
A first look at your graphics in an animated environment, to ensure you like the style and flow.

Rough-Cut
First draft of nearly complete video. Comments.

Final-Cut
Second look of nearly complete video, with Rough-Cut changes. Comments.

Picture-Lock
Final production.
